Cable TV opens a world of entertainment, information and education.
You just may want a little control.
Television can entertain and educate, providing great experiences for everyone when you use the tools and information available to you to make the best television viewing choices. Windjammer Cable provides you with a wide variety of programming for everyone in your family as well as the tools to help everyone make good choices.
Digital Cable customers will find that their set-top box has built-in parental control features to help control the channels and programs available to children. The controls allow you to block out specific programs or entire channels - by time of day, the channel or by the TV Parental Guideline rating.
TV Parental Guidelines were designed by the television industry to give parents another tool for making good viewing choices with their children. Similar to movie ratings, these seven rating levels are especially helpful with choosing programming for younger children.
The guideline will appear in a small black box in the top left corner of the screen at the beginning of programs and occasionally after commercial breaks as well. (Ratings do not appear on news or sports programs.)
If you do not have Digital Cable (or do not use the set-top box), please call us at 888-495-2881 and our staff will work with you to discover other options that will work best in your home to block out any unwanted programming.
Cable in the Classroom is a joint project of the cable industry to promote educational programs available to educators with reduced copyright restrictions, no commercials and classroom-friendly topics.
