Windjammer's Service Policies ensure that our customers get the best service possible and, if there is a problem, that it's fixed quickly.

Maintenance

Windjammer provides the best equipment and service possible, so that your service is reliable and you consistently have high quality digital television, high speed Internet and digital phone services. Providing these services requires periodic testing and repair of our equipment which may result in occasional short service interruptions. If you are experiencing a service outage, please call us at 888-495-2881 and we'll let you know if maintenance work is going on in your neighborhood that's affecting your service. Of course, we'll complete our work as quickly as possible and restore your service promptly.

Sports blackouts

Occasionally Windjammer will not be able to carry - to black out - a sports event because of FCC regulations. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Adult at home requirement

For the protection of our customers and our technicians, we have a policy that no installer or technician will enter your home unless an adult 18 or older is present. We apologize if this creates an inconvenience for you, but hope you'll recognize that there are sound reasons behind the policy.

Equipment

Windjammer stands behind the equipment we supply to provide cable service. We will repair and/or replace the equipment at no charge. Call Windjammer at 888-495-2881 to schedule a service call. Equipment that has not been supplied by Windjammer, such as VCRs and TV sets is the customer's responsibility to maintain; Windjammer assumes responsbility only for making service available to the equipment.

Windjammer will replace or repair your set-top convertor if it fails during normal use. However, set-top boxes that are supplied by Windjammer to our customers are the property of Windjammer and must be returned when service is discontinued or if Windjammer upgrades equipment. If a converter box is not returned, your account may be charged.

Home wiring

Home wiring is defined as the cable running from your TV set to a point approximately one foot outside of your residence (home or apartment); it includes extra outlets, splitters, connections, fittings or wall plates attached to the cable. It does not include terminal devices, such as set-top converter boxes, descramblers, A/B switches, parental control devices or security devices.

According to FCC regulations, if you terminate your cable service, you are given the option of acquiring the cable wiring within your residence. Even while you have Windjammer cable service you may remove, replace, rearrange, repair or maintain able wiring inside your residence, providing your actions don't interfere with Windjammer's ability to meet FCC-mandated technical standards or to provide service to you or your neighbors. You may not:

  • attach a device or equipment to your wiring that violates goverment regulations
  • attach a device or equipment in any way that imapirs the integrity of the local cable system, i.e. creates a signal leakage
  • attach a device or equipment to the wiring that degrades signal quality for your or your neighbors.

If you ask Windjammer to remove, replace, rearrange or otherwise maintain your residence's internal wiring, Windjammer will charge you at our regular hourly rate on a per-visit basis. We are not responsible for any problems you may encounter with customer-owned consumer electronic equipment (TVs, VCRs, home antennas, computers, telephone hand-sets, etc.) connected to your residence's internal wiring. Windjammer assumes responsibility for problems encountered with equipment you lease from us, except in the instance that those equipment problems are caused by tampering, neglect or abuse.

If you wish to remove, repair, rearrange or maintain your residence's internal wiring, you may do it yourself or hire a third-party contractor to perform the work for you. However, it's of the utmost importance that highquality materials be used and that they are installed properly so there is no signal leakage and that the signal quality complies with FCC technical regulations. If improper materials or installation causes signal degradation or leakage, Windjammer may be required by federal law to discontinue your cable service until the problem can be remedied.
